Open Dates
November 9, 2024
9AM - 3PM

About the Day

I will be offering one Autumn Quiet Day on November 9th. This day will be a time of re-centering ourselves in Christ’s love for us and looking for Him in our midst. You will have time to rest, journal, and seek God as you step away from your busy day-to-day schedule.

The day will begin at 9:00am. A light breakfast will be served. Our first session will begin at 9:15am with the group gathering for instructions. Quiet will then be observed until the end of our day when we will gather again for a group summary. You will have space to spread out for your time in the Word. Of course, if the weather permits, being outside is always an
option. Please feel free to bring needle work, coloring books, or other art/craft projects you can do quietly. The day is quiet, but it does not have to be sedentary. I ask only that you bring no additional books to read other than your Bible and a journal. You will be provided with all scripture passages and other materials needed for this day. Our day will end at 3:00pm. I will serve lunch and provide snacks for the day. The fee is $60.

If you are interested in this special day, please let me know. Registration is open now.

To offer enough space for each attendee, I can only have 5 people in attendance, so reservations should be made as soon as possible.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone else you believe might enjoy this day, or direct them here to the website.

Personal Retreat

Personal Retreat

Silence is a regenerative practice of attending and listening to God in quiet, without interruption and noise…it is a desire to free oneself from the addiction to and distraction of noise so we can be totally present to the Lord; to open ourselves to God in the place beyond words. Solitude is the practice of “leaving people behind and entering into time alone with God.”

Silence and solitude are practices that can be challenging to institute in our very busy, chaotic world. We may even feel resistance to the idea of being still and seeking the presence of the Lord in this quiet way. Personal spiritual retreats allow the retreatant the opportunity to quietly offer their body, soul, and mind time to rest in the presence of the Divine.

In-Person retreats: These retreats can be scheduled “live” here at my mini-farm in Springfield, Tennessee. You will have the opportunity to get away from the routine of your daily life. While you are here, you will have individual space for your scripture reading and journaling. You will have access to indoor space, but if the weather is not too rainy or cold, you are certainly welcome to spend your time outside. The session is quiet, but it does not have to be sedentary. You can walk anywhere you would like around the farm. These retreats last four hours with light refreshments available.

Beginning late summer, we will have, on our property, a small, retro camper we have renovated. You can spend a day or even the night! This space will allow folks to step away from their daily routine and have some time for solitude. Meals can be provided, and this experience  can be planned to fit the type of retreat you have in mind. For more information about reserving this space (and pictures of this accommodation), contact me.

Virtual retreats:  If it is not applicable for you to come in person for a retreat, there is the option for a virtual one. It is extremely important, though, that you create an environment that allows you to escape the noise and routine of your daily life. It is recommended that you find a quiet space in your home away from others who may reside with you. You can certainly be near others who might also desire to participate in this virtual, silent retreat. It is not unusual for a friend to host this type of quiet retreat and invite others, but space should be made available for all attendees to be alone with God, in silence to others. These retreats typically last around 4 hours.

If you are interested in an In-Person retreat or a Virtual retreat, please contact me, and we can schedule a date. Rates for a one-person retreat are $50 (for both the in-person retreat or the virtual retreat). Slightly reduced rates will be offered for virtual retreats that include more than one attendee.

This Quiet Morning is a half-day, and all materials for the session will be provided. We will spend time with the practices of Visio Divina and Lectio Divina.

You will need to be in a space that will allow you to step away from others and your daily routine.
